87 300TD cold compression 400-460 good?

These cold compression numbers OK?
1 - 400 psi
2 - 460
3 - 450
4 - 440
5 - 460
6 - 400
Should I be concerned with 1 and 6?
Car has about 189K on it.
Thanks,
Dave

for me

if i found one like that i would retest with another comp gauge,if it repeats then i would take it apart and find the reason the compression is too high.

Made in China = POS. Don't trust the quality.

I know, it bites me every time. This time it looks like the gauge maybe accurate as I have a USG gauge and it slightly lower at 380 on #1. Thing is its like about 75 degrees out and I did run the motor for like about 20 seconds this am. Maybe I'll try one more time in tomorrow morning. Think it has carbon inside? The intake had some crude in it. I'm not taking it apart. It runs good, just has a little roughness when you first start it for a couple of minutes, you know sputter here and there.
The problem I am having with this cheap setup is the quick connect is popping of at around 400 psi sometimes. Pieced together another setup with pieces I have.

hhmmmm. Don't want to make a big project out of this as I want to sell it.

Dave

Then don't sweat it. Those cars usually run a little rough when cold. Sell it like it is.

Not all bad

It looks to me like it might be reading a bit high, but I would live with it. Better then having them all reading low. I would just mentally take 50 psi off from each one, and then you can still say, it's got pretty good compression.

Yes, after more thought I'm putting it back together and calling it good. Its a used car, not going through oil or coolant, starts decent, has new glowplugs and rebuilt injectors. I've got $5,000 into and hoping to get that back. Another few weeks and she should be ready for Ebay.
