is this a good deal or just a crap old SD
1984, 2 owner car with loads of receipts. has been repainted but quite a decent (older) job (white). car is visually pretty. slightly damaged fender, otherwise dent-free, 254k miles, grey mb tex in decent condition with saggy dr. seat, very little rust yet not completely rustfree,
mechanically ok, the usual oil leaks (turbo-drain into oilpan, oilfilter housing gasket, vacuumpump), brake booster seems to not hold a vacuum or maybe the pump is gone cause it shifts pretty hard too- yet it shuts off prompt, fanclutch broken, becker broken, engine mount or shock is broken, it dances some, wheels nice with 2/3 left on michelins. ac is cold and all windows and sunroof work. she asks 2000, I got her down to 1500 but still think it's too much. anyone have an idea, what would this be worth when at least the brakes work, on ebay? |

If you don't dwell on all those things that are marginal, and fix the dented fender, you should fetch $2K on e-bay if it photographs well.
However, I wouldn't roll the dice in a valiant attempt to make a maximum of $500. You could be left holding the bag if the photos are marginal. Additionally, without full disclosure, you risk negative feedback with such a vehicle. With full disclosure, you risk a price that might not make $2K. It's a tough decision..........I wouldn't do it. |

I agree. If you want to make a million dollars on these cars, try starting with 2 million. Not that there are not deals out there you can make a few bucks on, this may not be one of them.
