engine swap=> oilfilter housing hits steering gear
hi,
w126 300sd gets a motor from 300td turbo (617 952) after one week noticed that the oil filter housing hits the steering gearbox and looses oil. what can be DONE ?? |

YOu must have a motor mount problem or a tranny mount problem. It should not be able to hit there. I would examine the motor mounts closely to see if they are severely collapsed.

Two possibilities.
1: Your engine mount is bad. 2: You didn't swap your W126 mount arms onto your replacement engine. |

I did swap the W126 mount arms on the w123 motor, or the engine with those arms wouldn't fit. The motor mounts look great, and didn't collapsed.
The engine itself must be the same 617951 <-> 617952 I will further examine, the mounts and everything |
