97 E300D with a PO200, injector circuit open code?
I purchased this 97 E300d about a month ago and it is driving and running great. Last evening a check engine light came on with a "engine electronics malfunction" reading. The car is still running perfect without a loss of power or rpm's. I took the car to Advance Auto and the code read PO200, "open injector circuit". If anyone could help me as to what to look for to narrow it down, that would be helpful and much appreciated. I know that both fuel filters were replaced before I purchased the car. Thanks and I look forward to some views.

The generic reader code P0200 can come up as a result of the following MB specific codes from stealership or a good independant MB shop:
P1220=Fuel quantity actuator (IFI) (Y23/1) P1223=Fuel rack position sensor (Y23/1l1) P1475=Resonance intake line switchover valve (Y22/7) P1476=Resonance intake manifold switchover valve (Y22/6) P1611=IFI control module (N3/7) P1613=IFI control module (N3/7) P1614=IFI control mudule (N3/7) or fuel metering actuator (Y23/1k1) or fuel rack position sensor (Y23/1l1) P1617=control module not coded P1622=Electohydraulic shut-off actuator (Y1/1) So at least there is a range of possiblities. I haven't had this show up on my '96 E300D...yet. |

Any symptoms to help narrow things down?
I've had the 1622 code b4 which in my case was charectoristic of a weeping shutoff valve oring resulting in a very slightly delayed shutdown. Any fuel leaks ANYwhere in or around the IP or fuel filter housing??

Well I took it to a repair shop that was referred to me by the shop that we take our VW to. He had the Snap On diagnostic tool plugged in within the engine compartment as well as the one next to the emergency brake. He also got the PO200 reading. He checked a few things out and asked if I recently fueled up? I said about a week ago and he said that he thought that it was fuel related, so he cleared the code and told me to drive it home and call him if it came on again. I asked him what I owed him after he played around with it for 45 minutes and he said "nothing, I didn't do anything"! I drove it home and so far so good. Maybe this was a blessing in disguise as now I have a mechanic that I can trust, with MB experience for over 20 years! I am absolutely in love with this car, my wife says that it is unhealthy!
