Will a turbo motor fit a non-turbo tranny?

Will an 80-turbo 617-950 fit a tranny on a 79-non-turbo tranny?

Thanks, Don

yes, it will fit, but the shift points, and rear gear ratio will be hard to deal with at highway speeds.

Does that translate into ruining the tranny?

nah, just high fuel consumption on the highway, and fast gear shifts on acceleration.

Yes it will fit but the life expectancy will be a little bit shorter.

I am fairly certain the gearing is the same on the tranny, just not the rear end. I would be more worried about if the tranny can handle the additional toqrue/power.

I hooked up my 240D tranny with 250k miles to my 617.952 engine. The tranny *broke* after 1 year.
