Injector crush washers

Does anyone have any suggestions how to remove injector crush washers that are stuck at the bottom of the (I guess it's called?) prechamber? Trying to replace the injectors with rebuilt ones? Help!

A stiff wire with a hook small enough to fit through the hole.

Magnet or a clothes hanger bent small enough to hook it.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll try them. But these are in there VERY tight. I tried a screwdriver and they don't budge. Thinking about bending a large nail, maybe that will work. Try it tomorrow.

By the way, these things are called heat shields.

I bought a 4 piece pick set at Sears that had a hooked tool that worked perfectly for this.

That's what I use to pull the dash clusters. It also doubles as my heat shield puller.

Worst case scenario you could remove all of your injectors and crank the engine over and blow them out of there. Ask me how I know that will work...

And not a spring with a hook...that'll send those babies flying even further than the engine can.

o.k., tried some suggestions...

These babies will not budge. Sprayed some PB blaster on the front one, tried the hook and yank procedure (bent the hook). I guess I'll try the turn engine over after removing injectors next.

It looks like the rprechamber has a lot of carbon in it or the crush ring is too large for it. I dunno....

Any other ideas?

But if you are replacing them, who cares if you find them or not?
