Question

Do you remember SirNik and his '84 300SD from the January MB shop gtg ?

He has an exhaust system on it that he custom fabicated, which looks like that one except the pipes on his are made from cyclone fence posts. It is just incredible, i keep hoping he wil. share the full story here.

In this advertisement, you can sure see that the bidders are getting excited about this car. The price is really high.

It's taking a big risk with the original 350SD engine apparently still in it.

I can see the uneven tire shine dripping off from here.

That dual exhaust looks horrible. The other pipe isn't even supported, it's just hanging there. Probably rubbing on the bumper.

"The legendary 3.5 liter diesel engine". indeed

I used to own one and loved it, though I'd never go around tooting a legendary statement. infamous..maybe.

Mine had 140K miles on it and the interior looked that good too. Exterior was pretty darn close except for maybe that I didn't armor all the air cleaner and ABS plastic, so not sure what the seller is talking about "no wear" because there's definitely some there. The '79 SD in St. MO looks far more flawless than this one.

that's really a great color combination, too bad they had to trash it with the chrome and hacked dual exhaust (why, why, why?)

there's another keeper...a 300SD "euro"...looks nice other than that blatant misdescription and disintegrated back seat.

ugh..had to edit because ebay is full of nonsense today

"you have to turn the ignition off and restart to get into reverse."
Um, huh? That's a new one for me. Shifter bushings?

Nice looking photos of the 350. I wonder if it's as nice as the photos. I bet it sounds nice with those duals.
I like.

Nice and ricey. I don't buy the mileage, look at all the rock chips.

Also look at the seats, they were never treated properly. Looks like dad passed his old MB down to his son, son pimped it out a bit, didn't like it, got dad to buy him a 3 series or whatever, etc, etc.

I'm surprised they forgot to armor all the serpentine belt..they certainly got everything else black that is rubber or plastic in there.

Agreed. 110%. Maybe more.

And the "legendary" engine comment... Well, I can't add to what has already been said.

Cheers, John

Yeah, the duals are just way over the top. They might not be so bad if they were smaller diameter and a little closer to flush with the bumper like some of the Jag's and Lexus' have, but still look out of place on a fine luxury sedan. Notice the mismatched tires and all the fresh oil spots on the blacktop under it also. All of the bling is hiding some things...
