Boost Controller Results & Question
Installed a cheapee turbo boost controller I got on Ebay to my 1980 300SD. Before adding I was generating 6-7 psi. After installing I now run at max 10-11psi and it's a DRASTIC difference! I cut 5 sec off my 0-60 time!
Question: Is it standard that boost controllers have a small vent hole on the discharge valve? This thing whistles slightly at 10 psi and discharges some of the intake air into the cabin. Is this necessary or can I tape it and forget it? Thanks all Bert - NH

It's normal because the boost controller is a check valve. Without that hole the air would get stuck in the wastegate and hold it open.
Why do you have it inside? |

It's inside so I can adjust it
