Check these out for your seats

http://tinyurl.com/yp864e

I picked up two sets of these for the tired front seats on my 300TD and it makes them feel like new and installation was a snap. I didn't even have to take the seats out of the car. I don't know if these can be purchased at a dealership or if I even got a good deal, but for me it was 100% worth it.

Too bad not all seats have those coils. I guess the later models have them. don't know when it started, though.

I always wondered how they needed to be installed. I'll go for the Genuine Wal-marts when I'll need them.

Or $2.99 for a pool noodle at Big 5.

I'm just making a guess here, but I bet the quality/stiffness/durability of the foam the MB ones are made from is a *bit* better than your average pool noodle at china-mart.

These things are not pool noodles. They are built differently, and have a solid piece in the middle for support, whereas pool noodles are just spongy throughout the whole structure.

That MB spring insert part is like $5-7 from the dealer or Phil. Some guy on ebay is making money selling them for $10 each plus shipping!

how long to degrade

I recently inserted 3 pieces of a pool noodle between the seat pad and the seat frame, and inbetween the springs in the front part of the seat. All noodles were laid horizontally from side to side (in other words from one side of the seat to the other (not front to back) and ...

I am extremely satisfied. My parents own a pool and even in the water the pool noodles last for freaking ever.... I will happily replace my foam noodle in a year or two if needed for another $1.50 out of pocket. How long is the car going to last for crying out loud, another 22 years?
