Butchering the intake - part deux
aka - Gasp... NO! You'll ruune yer engine!!
aka - Recycling is american. Here is part one entitled "I was only going to change out the air cleaner mounts..." http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showthread.php?t=191687 it contains answers to important questions such as... "Whats wrong w/ the stock intake?" and many more! Kindly peruse it if you are planning to post on this thread so we don't cover old ground. So I am building an airbox behind the RF headlight and I am using some of the old stock parts to 'feed the airbox' The collector and the old turbo 'u-tube' will be incorporated into the airbox, after some modification. I am still mocking up the intake, this one is only temporary, I am going to have some 304 Stainless mandrel bent, then TIG in some bungs, then I will install the largest filter that will fit, then some insulation or heat shields. I have been working w/ cardboard templates to make the airbox, its going well except for the stupid (non-funct) A/C hose, which is in the way of everything. I've got about 700 'test' miles on the setup as you see it, and its functioning fine.

Just get an 85 Cali 300D air filter set up. Of course the filter elements cost a lot but it will be better than the K&N. You'll also get a better ram air effect.

Anyway, I have no comment on your air semi-cleaner set up, but where is that fan shroud Mr.? Oh, and don't worry. My green coolant is a little low also......

What do you think the difference is? They both filter air. The only difference is how much air it can flow.

It's designed to filter diesel air.
