Have you seen any sprinter vans with the MB star on them? in the movie, the bad guys use one painted as a hazmat vehicle, it pretty much is in the entire movie as the bad guy's car. That SEC star on the grille is heavily featured.

No SEC style grille, it's a Mercedes style grille. 316CDI.

anyway. I just found it neat that they used MB grillework for the movie. are there any real MB sprinters in the us?

I have never seen a sprinter in the U.S. with a grill star. Maybe they are in europe, or maybe it was just "product placement" for the movie.

Does Chrysler sell the Sprinter under their name? I thought I saw some on a Chrysler dealer's lot recently.

That movie was like a special effects extravaganza, wasn't it? I thought I saw him hit the black 126 more than once.

freightliner and dodge sell the sprinter. but online you can get the grill conversion kit to convert it back to the star and etc

I see alot of sprinters in my area. I have seen a few of the new ones as well

That's what I thought. so it was flagrant product placement by MB. as a "Government" car would not be of a type un available in the US, nor would they put a "kit" on to make it appear MB...
from what I have heard, almost every scene where John is moving is C.G. amazing how far they have come since the first Spider-Man movie came out.
you can hardly tell it's not Live Action.

Lakeland,FL a town or two over has a load of brand new Unimogs with a Mercedes star vinyl on it (probably added by the garage)

Bit of an overstatement.

For a big budget action movie released in 2007, the CG is actually quite low If you want almost none though, looks like you're gonna have to wait for John Rambo.

There is plenty of product placement in the film. It isn't at Transformers level, but the vehicle and phone placements are quite noticeable.
