I am trying to get to my battery can anybody tell me how to remove the backseat is there a latch ?

There is a latch on each side, near the front corner. Push the latch up and lift the seat up.

Thanks for the info on the seat, here is another question do you no where the obc connector is located for a code scanner I have a check engine electronics message .

It's by the driver's left leg, near the hood release. The check-engine light on these cars usually means a sticking flap somewhere in the intake. Cleaning and lubing these flaps goes a long way in preventing the CE light from coming back.
