AC Compressor, no power
Worked on my AC the other day new dryer, etc. Worked perfectly. I couldn't leave well enough alone and mistakingly moved the electrical line to the compressor which fell off. The connection was brittle and broke. I pulled over a few times and kept playing with it to get it to work. At which time It smelled like a wire burning inside the car and no AC. It now seems that I have no power to the compressor. #8 fuse for AC is ok. Is there another fuse? Or did I fry my fan/AC control unit located on the dash? Any suggestions would be apreciated.

For the compressor to work, the following must be OK:
1. Klima relay (in front of fuse panel) 2. Compressor clutch relay 3. Low-pressure switch 4. CCU unit on dash 5. Compressor cut-out (at full throttle) switch 6. Fuses "a," "b," and "c." As you can see, diagnosis is not trivial. Many times, the Klima relay fails (it is an electronic package, not just a relay) and is bypassed. There may be a DIY on this forum or elsewhere. The 1985 models are different from other 123s. Only they have the Klima relay. The regular a/c manual doesn't have the right diagrams, you need the 1985 "Introduction into service" manual. Jeremy
