Bypass the ABS? What's the minimum to run?

While I was working on my car today I thought of a conversation earlier in the week with a co-worker in which he described to me how to bypass a heater core if it were leaking.

As I looked at the various parts on my car I thought of the pictures of MB's in the Saudi desert and wondered if I was in a pinch and my ABS was broken could I bypass it by connecting the brake lines for the inlet and outlet?

I did some searching and didn't find anyone that had tried this which is probably a good thing.

Glow plugs you could probably do without if it were warm. Can you bypass a glow plug relay?

Rear brakes you could do without.

I suppose you could even run without the turbo working despite how bad it would suck.

Don't need the A/C and I suppose even the power steering isn't absolutely mandatory, although probably best left to the large forearm variety.

I recall reading that even if the electrical function of a 300SD was not functioning the vehicle would still be operable but not quite so smooth.

I suppose that means that even the alternator could be broken (except for the requirement to charge the batter to turn the starter).

And subsequently I think that pretty much eliminates the need for a serpentine belt.

Radiator overflow tank could be replaced with a radiator cap?

Tranny and oil cooler are a neccesity?

You can also bypass the engine and push the car yourself.
