radiator compatability
i have an 87 sdl that has some body damage, the power steering pulley hit the radiator and messed it up, so i was wondering if there is a place that has cheap rebuilt ones or if there is another model that will be compatable with my car> i have an 87 300 sdl and if another radiator from another model will fit and if anyone has one that would be great, thanks, Jason

how many miles
how many miles on this car...if you are planning on keeping it, you may want to install new...
You may want to avoid cheap, rebuilt, or quick fixes with this component of your cooling system... especially with diesels.... I know I have a different model, but I bought a new Nissens radiator, upper and lower hoses, a new thermostat, and the coolant (zerex g-05) for around $220 for it all. Put it in myself, not a bad job.... I have seen some cheaper radiators, but mine was like $180 or something new. |

I agree. Go to Radiator.com and check out the price of a new radiator. It should come in around 200 bucks. The radiators are very easy to install on the W126 car. just pop out the two clips on top. take off the hoses and transmission lines and pull it out. It took me 1/2 hour to do mine. |
cool ill check that out, im planning on keeping the car, hopfully i can get the parts soon so i can get it rockin again.

bite the bullet
amen. Bite the bullet on new.. once you get over the sticker shock, I think you will be very satisfied, especially if you install it yourself (not a hard job).
Advice.... replace all hoses (they are cheap) |
