Fuel sender on a 300TD wagon with 3rd row

How do I remove the fuel sender on the wagon with the 3rd row seating. The grounds seem OK. How do I get to the sender to check it out.

Remove the third row seat. Remove the seats and then the floor mat.

as i remember it, you dont need to remove the third row seat. Just fold down the seat to the floor with the backrest still in the open position. You'd then be able to get to teh floor mat and behind it the fuel sending unit.

When I checked my sender, I had to remove the seat portion of the rear seat, but not the backrest portion. The floor mat can be finicky to get out, but its not that hard.

I pulled out just the seat portion too, lifted up rubber floor mat. you'll see the "cap" that you unscrew to lift out fuel sender. handle with care, the wires inside the sender are delicate.
