dealer pricing
No dealer involvement just yet. The only thing I got from them is a quote on TCM -reman for $780. I'm still hoping I can remedy this myself.:sweatdrop:

I'd let a dealer read the stored codes in the car...they have a special reader that will not just read the OBDII codes but the proprietary Mercedes system and that will tell them conclusively where the problem is. This is not a DIY repair, in my opinion, as most of the transmission electronics need to be coded to the car so you will need a dealer anyway...might as well just let them diagnose it for an hour's labor and see what they say. That's my $0.02, anyway.

Most of us non-techs have minimal knowledge regarding the innards of the trans. I believe you are going to need to have it scanned by SDS or similar scanner so the adaptaion values can be read and interperted. I suspect there will be other underlying codes that will be present in the trans module that OBDII can't "see" also.
I would suggest posting on the tech forum as a "W210" question leaving out any mention of "Diesel" to keep it from being moved back here. |
