I doubt they will get anything from lovecrap. They call all their "conversions" on common rail engines "prototypes".

I wouldn't be so sure. Some people LOVE to sue people for anything.

Hey Lance, did you post on LC? I saw a name there that was the same as one you use at BW.

Ok, guess what? I was "smitty" Smitty's post was deleled again, and smitty was banned.

Yep, nothing but a bunch of crooks and lack of spine.

And, I actually did call the MB service shop. At first they did not want to talk to me until I told them I was planning on converting my car as well, but wanted their opinion.

Quinn, I think your friend should contact the media as well, for one of those consumer alert segments. Your friend should sue LoveCrap. I would. Also, have him join every MB forum and post his story.

I liked your posts. Straight to the point. Have you had any issues posting with LC?

I've had my log-in names banned 8 times and my IP address banned once for a month. Zedd is #10. we'll see how long I can last now that the childish Brian Lovecraft is no longer in control of their forums.

smitty nearly got to 90 before he was banned. Calling them crooks in their own forum certainly didn't help.

I agree the media might pick up a story like that to go and knock on their door in after hour news. They always like to pursue scandals.

I can see the reporter walking up to Brian asking questions while he is trying to escape and then turns around and smacks the cameraman...I hear he would do something like that....all for good TV.

but seriously, people, is it possible for the vegetable oil that the car runs on to go past the rings and actually fill up the crankcase that quick??
really, I'm sure you can eventually **** up a diesel with wvo, but this story is kinda fishy. it has to be something else or at least some problems/ failures combined that caused that engine to blow.
don't know about the cdi but I bet you can run a 617 for 100k+ miles without even heating the oil at all in a warm climate.

It does not matter on a CDI. If you have an engine problem with more than B5 or any form or WVO/SVO in our tank, then you are on your own warranty if the dealership/Mercedes finds out.

Just because you can, does not mean you should.

that all depends. one should never buy a car new enough to have factory warranty in the first place. especially not a benz

but for real, this wasn't caused by wvo alone I'm quite sure. unless the cdi really can't handle it and opens up it's rings out of sheer discontent to let the wvo seep into the crankcase of course.
