intermittent P0215 and no power above 3000 RPM

Hey Guys my 97 E300D has been throwing a code P0215. I replaced the Shutoff Solenoid with a new one yet still have the issue. When shutting the car off it sometimes seems to run on.. for a few seconds. While driving the car it on occasion will lose all top-end power above 3000 RPM.

It seems as though it is starved for fuel when under heavy acceleration and when shutting down it seems as if fuel shut off is not closing fast enough, yet the intermitant problem still occurs after the new shut-off solenoid was replaced. Any Ideas?

Also my wife said the car just stalled the other day while iding at the light, it then restarted fine.

How new is your K40 relay?

Assume there is no weeping or leaking from behind the new shutoff valve. A bad seal or oring behind the shutoff can cause a delayed shutdown.

Yeah the K40 is original and may be may be my next part. There was never any leaking that I noticed from the o-ring, and the problem seems to to be the same as before the shut-off valve and O ring was changed. Seem to get worse when the tempture out side is hot in the 90's

Are you certain you got all the vacuum lines reconnected up under the IM when you were working on the S/O valve? One of those being off might explain the lack of power at higher RPM.....?

You can carefully take the K40 apart and look for cracks on the circut board with a magnifying glass.

Yeah it was giving me problems before I replaced the Shut off valve, that's why I replaced it. I'll have to recheck all the o-rings. I plan on just replacing the K40 relay anyways, preventative maintenance. I guess maybe one of the vac lines is loose or cracked...
Good point...
