Angry New Benz owner multitude of problems

Have a 82 300TD multitude of problems, no dash lights, tach does not work a/c problem. Had it changed over to R134 worked for about thirty minutes now now cool air. She has 216k on the clock and both engine and transmission have been rebuilt by the local MB dealer have all receipts in glove box. She has lots of rust issues but I have a mech. buddy who lets me use his body shop for free just pay for material. Previous owner has promised to give me the repair manual which will be a great help. Also any help from owners, tech etc on forum will be greatly appreciated. Not new to diesels as we have a 2005 Jetta TDI and a 1997 Ford F250 PowerStroke. Thanks in advance for any help Jeep Taylor Southern Indiana
