the light is blue only due to the reflection.. but look closer...

That black paint on the grill looks nice. It makes me wonder if the designers considered that option? Somebody else on this site had a euro 300D (maroon?) with the same mod and it looked great too. It would look great on my bright yellow 240D.

The black grille looks good on darker body colors. Doing the same thing on a Light Ivory, Beige, China blue or white, for example, looks really out of place.

Personally, I would have painted it a lighter or more flat black to match the bumper liners.

I think he painted the inside of his euros black to match his black grill.

It's been black for 2 years now. I just re-painted it...

and since no one looked hard enough.. just look at the headlights in the first pic.. then the second.. notice.. the black???

Don,
Your car looks sooooooo fine. Want to trade it for a 1999 E300? (I just have to first pry it away from my wife)

My 1981 300D has the grille painted black. What an accent. I am thinking about doing that to all three of my W123's.

That looks great... really makes me want to go get paint tomorrow. Is it difficult to paint the fins on the headlights?
