What do ya think about these 220d's on ebay?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=020&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=300141161293&rd=1

Says they both ran when parked.

At $250, its a steal if for nothing but the "fresh" motor.

I would find out if he has the titles before bidding.

It looks like a lot of work, but if you want a 220d you could cobble one together out of the two of them. Looks like a good price, but you will have to trailer two cars. Not my cup of tea.
Find out if he has the titles, or if in Ohio there are no titles before 1973 (NY is like that, you just have the registration if the car is older than 1973).

just looking for a wvo/biodiesel car and I figured if one or both of them is in driveable conidtion, I could get them cheap.
Yeah, transporting 2 cars would be a PITA. My uncle has a trailer but I doubt its big enough for 2 of them, if in fact, its even fixed yet since he bought it broken

If it helps your thinking on this...
About ten years ago I sold two 220D's to a fellow who picked them up with an old Ford one-ton flatbed pickup and an open car trailer. The truck's bed didn't tilt but he had a winch behind the cab and rigged up some ramps, then hooked up the trailer and loaded the other car. You could probably rent/borrow a truck w/ tilt or something like above, then rent a trailer. No matter how you do it, you're talking a combined weight near 7000Lbs. with just the cars. Better yet, find a friend+2-trucks+two trailers. It will run you more in gas $$ to get them home than you pay for the cars

Maybe I can just arrange with the seller to get one car at a time and have them stay there a little longer. I can use my truck and maybe my uncles trailer. That way all I have to do is pay for gas, dont have to worry about renting anything or finding a friend that has time available

The price right now means nothing. It needs to stay that way until auction end (when most folks bid)......

Called the guy
Told me that both titles are clear, the 270K is on the 72 and theres about 125-150K on the blue 69.
Said only problems with either cars when they were parked was the rust on the white 72, and that started after he got back to the states. Says he has the 2 windshields along with a 55 gallon trash can full of parts he took off of some junk cars he owned.

was very accomodating and willing to give me a week longer to come and look at the cars before I pay. (Even though I cant because I gotta clear any requested days like 3 weeks prior, so I guess Ill have to pay before I look)

The iron moths have been eating up the white one. Hard to tell if the blue one is rusty. Very likely that the engine will be clapped out on the 69.

If the heater blower is out, it pretty much means the car is done for.

These cars are a bit different than 123's. They are pretty cool old cars though.

Can you explain some more? Nothing to stop a person from jumping them. Alda has no effect on jumping (if you were implying that). No *****iness from having an ALDA as far as I know.

Labor cost of getting to the blower far exceeds the value of the car.

Clapped out = cylinders worn out due to bad metal in the engines in 68 & 69.
