fuel line question
I am pretty new to diesels, and never messed with the fuel lines. I am installing my WVO kit, and need to change/extend the rubber lines in my engine compartment. Is there going to be a problem with the air in the lines before the injection pump?
I have the little white knob with the arrow on my injection pump. With what I have gathered, I have to turn it, it will pop out, then I just pump it 5 or 10 times. Is this about right? I have been looking for a while for a working writeup on priming, but have had no luck. Thanks for the help. |

It will probably take waaay more than 5 to 10 strokes. You have the old style primer pump. If it leaks at all, you need to replace it.

I have another one in my garage, but the one I have hasn't shown me any reason to change it yet. But I have the idea down right?

Just pump like crazy until you hear the little buzzing noise. On mine, when I totally open the fuel system, like to change a filter, it takes about 50 strokes (with the new style primer pump).
If you hack up the fuel system for wvo, all bets are off, however.
