HERE is a good guide on how to do it.
Adjusting the ALDA is one of the last things you should do. Make sure everything else is up to spec first. Make sure the overboost protection system does not leak. Clean the banjo bolt on the intake. Boost pressure. EGR system inactive. Valve adjustment. Clean fuel filters and tank strainer. Timing chain elongation. Injection timing. THEN the ALDA. |

...and tank strainer.
Listen to Lance. All the stuff mentioned is easy and part of a standard 30K maintenace regimen (certainly some items also at 15K). I want to place added emphasis on changing out the fuel tank screen, and, while the screen is removed, run a rag around in there, looking for bio-gunk.
Check out the attached poor pix of a fuel tank screen I just removed from Gray Ghost. It must have been OEM Sindelfingen (the MB factory) and 95% blocked. While I was having performance "problems" before and fiddled with the ALDA, to only a small improvement, with the new tank screen in, Gray Ghost is now an Interstate rocket, four passengers, AC on, nooooo problems! Search the threads for how-to DIY the screen R&R. Ask any questions. Good luck.
