Motor Mount replacement on an '84 300D

First time poster, long time lurker. This forum has helped me do any number of things from a diesel purge to proper stereo wiring. It would be no stretch of the imagination to say that the Benz owes its continued state of existence to this forum.

Sloppy hummers aside, I have a 84 300D Turbo that recently had the upper oil coolant hose spring a slow leak. I was able to catch it in time to park it before it lost any significant amount and proceeded to replace the hose. As is detailed in many many posts, that hose is easy to get out by cutting, near impossible to get back in; not unlike a tumor.

Several suggestions have been made to remove the motor mount; which I attempted to do, but was stripped bare and needs replacement. I ordered a replacement mount from NAPA (one of the few parts I have been able to get domestically) and much to my chagrin, did not come with the rubber bushing piece on top.

My question to you helpful forum goers is this: what exactly is that rubber piece called?

Name what rubber piece?

Scratching my head a bit. The motor mount is the motor mount. It consists of metal plates and heavy rubber all molded into one element. See parts catalog here or at
http://catalog.worldpac.com/buymb/022406/wizard.jsp?header=http://www.***************/header.txt&footer=http://www.***************/footer.txt&partner=buymb&clientid=buymbparts&baseurl=http://www.***************/&cookieid=25T0XJPVZ26H12CXJ2&year=1984&make=MB&model=300-DT-001&category=All&part=Engine+Mount

NAPA might be OK for gottahavit and paybigbucks parts, but this forum sponsor and *************** are great sources for OEM and other manufacturers.

Maybe I missed something...

Are we talking 2 things here? Motor Mount vs Motor Shocks?

Motor mount is a one-piece part. Its metal and rubber together. Motor shock is comprised of many parts.

Don't feel alone about NAPA. I bought my mounts from them too as I needed it asap. Theirs appear to be german made also. Price wasn't bad. But I agree. Support Fastlane whenever you can. I just wish they'd drop their prices just a bit. Althought the tech support from folks like Roy makes up for it - I guess.
