GP upgrade for om602 engine?

Is there a glowplug upgrade for the om602 engine? Like heat up quicker and more?

Don't think so. The only upgrades I'm aware of is the loop to pencil type conversion on the older 616 and 617. The 602 came with the pencil type and afterglow stock from the factory. Are you having problems starting, or is the six or seven seconds until the light goes out too long? I find that by the time I get settled in the seat and my seatbelt fastened the plugs are warm enough to crank the engine.

Well ... my car starts right away. It's just the time to wait while the light goes off, around 15 sec for me. It's just the human in us, we try to improve something lol.

I believe there is a head temperature sensor somewhere that controls that light. It might be going bad. Try starting a cold engine about six or seven seconds after you light the plugs off, regardless of the indicator light. You won't damage anything if it doesn't start. With a warm engine, you don't have to wait for the light to go out; you just crank it immediately like a gasser.

I really wish we got more of those 190D 2.5T cars over here. They're rare as hen's teeth in the US.

They're quite rare here as well.

I've seen the CDI glow time.

I should say lack of it. I would do the same if I could but the next time you change them I read that Bosch Duraterm are supposed to good. I'm trying to get some of them with my next injector shim shipment.

The only upgrade is the "Afterglow" upgrade. I don't know when MB started using it, but there is a slightly different glowplug, and the glow plug relay keeps the glow plugs on for up to 1-2 minutes after you start the car. It really helps when its very cold outside...

Searching for that should return some more information if you're interested. I don't know that much about it since it rarely gets below freezing here.

My car already has that. The GPs stay on for about a minute or so.
