1985 300TD in CA
I wonder if its as nice in person as it looks, and I wonder how high it will go. Chrome rims don't do anything for me, looks to pimp.

I agree, it looks pretty nice (without the silly wheels). It is a cali model. It is getting to the mileage where it may need a little attention (transmission, timing chain, oil pump chain, half-shafts, etc.). It will be interesting to see how high it gets, my guess is $7-8K.

ssssssssssssssh don't tell
If the buyer is from California, he better hope the owner forgets to remove the 11-99 license frame on the back of that wagon.
They are priceless - they are a free pass from traffic tickets - the Highway Patrol knows they are a secret code issued as a reward for people who join the 11-99 Foundation, and donate about $2,000 to the society for widows and orphans of fallen CHP officers. Or, the buyer could take it off and sell it to someone in California on the Porsche forum www.rennlist.com for $1,000 at least!!!

Vacuum amp?
It's there between the Klima relay and the cover for the misc. relays, on the driver's inner fender, just in front of the firewall.
Or are you thinking of the vacuum stuff for ARV/EGR? They indeed appear to be missing -- aren't where my '85 sedan had them before I removed. Maybe they go in a different place in the wagon? There's that SLS reservoir to fit in on that same side next to the windshield washer reservoir.

Questions...
(1) Does not the front license frame say "Portland/Rasmussen" ? As in "Don Rasmussen Company - Mercedes Benz of Portland" ? http://portland.mercedescenter.com/
(2) That's an awfully late license number for a one-owner California '85, whereas a recently-removed vanity plate would have been replaced with something starting "5" instead of "4." (3) Did the 123 T-sedan have a third row seat option? Seller doesn't mention. (4) The driver's inside door pull looks kinda saggy, typical of high-mileage beasts. I would want to know whether the trans, etc., have been rebuilt. Jeremy
