Question Air Cleaner Bracket R and R OM617 turbo

Doing this right now...

Got the old one out (it was broken so I could clear the oil line). Cant get the new one in without removing the oil line - Ive since figured this out.

Now I need to take the oil line off - is there a gasket that I have to replace? What are the precautions / procedure for taking this puppy off and putting it back on?

Thanks...now I see why this takes a little bit of time. Any other gotchyas on this one?

dd

As I recall I did have to remove the oil line on my 617. I do not believe there was a gasket, but I'm not certain. I know I did not replace any gasket. As I recall, I just loosened the two bolts, (gently) moved the line, and retightened it. I don't know the torque value, I just tried to leave it like I found it.

Didn't need to remove mine either though there was a small bracket holding the oil line attached to the air cleaner bracket.

Interesting. I jiggled with it for a few minutes and then figured my luck had run out with how fast the job was progressing.

Anyone have a tip for how to wriggle it in there under the oil line? Is this kind of like the turbo oil drain tube...theres just a secret trick and in it goes.
