need to decide.

this would seem like a no brainer but then again not really.
my 300d, bless it's little ip, gave it's self to protect me from an isuzu rodeo. i'm okay, the car, well it could be saved maybe???
in the mean time i've got to get back and forth sooo
this what i've found.

84 300 td wagon.
new alt new tie rod end.
new lower ball joints.
recent vac pump.
new front shocks and rear self level.
service records to 105k in car current owner has more in file.

all windows work.

locks are slow but work.

cruise and ac and climate control work.

engine runs smooth

tranny shifts hard but shifts about when it should.

good acceleration

one obvious rust spot under car directly under front pass seat. the under coat has pulled away bout the size of a small orange.

some rust on the inside of the trailing edge of the rear hatch.

radio doesn't work.

he had done some work to the sun roof and didn't do something right cause it blew off the car on i 95. so sun roof is sealed in place with rtv.

no dash lights at all. no lights in cliamate control.

upper ball joints need replacing.

inside edges of both front tires worn.

bundt wheels look worn one missing center.

paint faded.

passed va saftey inspection. he's getting out of the navy soon and moving to california.

price $2200

other car is an 83 300 sd

paint is good.

runs good

shifts slow, but there's to much tranny fluid in it and it's frothed up.

recent rear brake job

new wind shield

no dash lights

pass side windows don't move (swithches maybe)

starts first turn of key

sun roof works

pass seat controls missing

drv seat 1/2 works

rt pocket in trunk rusted thru

rust in various parts of trunk .

rear head liner and interior light sagging and hanging

cracks in seats and door vinyl.

body molding missing on drv door.

good wheels and tires.

no suspension clunks. could not see forgot to bring a light but slung it arround in a parking lot. reasly tight.

and it fail va saftey inspection she says everythings fixed but headlights need too be aimed.

she just doesn't want the car

min price 625$ down from 1000$

any opinions

i've got 2500$ to work with and i need a car yesterday.

are the prices fair. which would give the least problems. don't know anything about the big body cars other than they are nice looking.

Sounds like a mean pair of Benzs

Of course you can only drive one at a time. So fix one- drive one. Doesn't sound like a match made in heaven to me. I would say that if you need the vehicle for everyday regular transportation to work, school and such, this is not the way to go. Take all the funds available, ( and more) and buy the one single Benz, and make it the best car you can find. Then you will be happy with your car. Two junkers won't make anyone happy.
