w123 rear brake questions
I need to replace the rear rotors on my '85 300TD (wagon).
After I jack the car up and remove the wheel, what needs to be done to remove the hub? Should the parking brake be engaged? The instructions I've found are vague in respect to these.

Block the front wheels, jack up the rear, remove the wheels, release the parking brake, remove the caliper and take off the rotor.

WHat are rotors? I also seem to have problems with my rear wheel disk brake. After I bled the brakes, I noticed that the whole disk brake is wiggling. After checking underneath, the axle is alsowiggling when I jolt the disk brakes. What is the cause of this? That is why I am curious about the rotor. Do you guys have pic or manual for me to check which part is broken? Thanks!!

the Rotor is the large metal disc that the caliper is connected to. describe the "wiggling" you are seeing. if you mean the rotor can move freely, it is normal. if you mean the entire axle assembly is moving, you may need rear suspension parts. describe and take pictures or video.

You should put some penatrating oil in the lug bolt holes so it can get inbetween the rotor and the hub. They are a pain to get off sometimes.

you are right vstech, the whole axle is moving including the rotor. i didnt spin, but tried to wiggle the rotor and the whole thng shakes up to the axle? I'll try to get some pics tom

Just removed the rotor! It seems that the rear wheel bearing is used up. I am figuring out how to remove the bearing. Any ideas?
