Needed: Front Flex Disc Removal Tips

1981 300TD manual
I twisted my driveline in half near the front mount. I got the rest of the driveline and carrier bearing out out. I removed the 3 bolts connecting the front shaft to the flex disc but can't separate the two.

Is there a trick? I've tried prying and tapping to no avail.

Try removing the three bolts holding the flex disc on the tranny output shaft and see if the flex disc somes off with the front half of the driveshaft.

There is a male/female fit in the center, it's possible the driveshaft is cocked and jammed.

Is there a male/female connection between the disc and the front shaft? Or, do they butt-together flush? From the pictures I've seen, the flex disc is flat rubber.

Male/female. You will have to pull them apart about 1/2-3/4 inch to seperate if I remember correctly.

Isn't there a little collar that fits inside either the shaft or the output bracket, which is a tight fit? As I recall, a small prybar was necessary to dislodge this collar.

Thats about it. Those little pieces dont stick up into the yoke very far but they can be a bugger to get out. I use two pry bars and they can also be 'taped" on. I just did this job.
