Removing cylinder head / torx bits ?
What's the special bit I need to remove the cylinder head ?
Also is it worth removing lol ! I mead are they worth anything ? My car had a rod knock and dont wanna remove if I it's not worth anything I'll just dump it at the metal yard. |
yOu will need to provide a bit more information for anybody to seriously answer your question. year model condition would be a good start.

my bad it's the MB in my sig. 1985 300d
The head is in good condition but I really dont know if it worth any money. Buying a $10 bit and taking 30 minutes to remove a head and sell it for 20 bucks is not my idea of fun if you know what I mean. |
its called a triple square, thirteen mm i belive... you could just cut them off with a torch...
|
a triple square ? where can I get one of those ?

Hold on to that head man. If you ever decide to get a valve job it means less off the road while the head is being worked on at Metric Motors. I have been thinking about pulling one or just that reason.

This is the object of your desire....
MAC tools # SC91, you'll probably want a cheaper one though if you never plan to use it again. |
Is it a 13mm or a 12mm ?
|
I don't believe that there is any such thing as a 13mm triple square.

Set of 3
You can buy a set of 3 from Autozone for under 10 dollars... One of the 3 fits the head and one of the 3 will fit the bolts securing the axles to the differential on the 124 models... Jim

definitive
It's a 12mm, 12 point metric bit, commonly referred to as a"triple square," though NAPA calls it a "12mm Serrated Wrench." They sell it for $7. Part # 2306, made by KD Tools. (************** sells for $20, part # TUL-COMSCHT)
