I'm not sure how to describe this movement of the car. The rear end of my 83 300 cd-t will rise slightly when the gear selector is placed in reverse, and lower slightly when the gear selector is placed in drive or other forward gears.
I have had the car but 1 month. Is this a standard condition with these cars? Is it time to replace the tranny mounts?
I have seen this type of movement in older model corvettes.
Any suggestions??????

It's normal. It has nothing to do with trans mount condition. It's normal.
