Exclamation Yet another cold start post (W123)..

Whats the quickest and easiest way to remedy a slow start? I was tinkering with my linkahes and ALDA all summer and now that its winter, I think I've really messed it up....
This car has been my most relaible car, so I haven't had to touch it or post on it..its been out of my mind lately, till the temp dropped to 38 the other day....

Could be (if the engine is known to have good compression)

-Idle set too low
-One or more bad glowplugs
-Worn out starter or battery
-Rack Damper bolt screwed all the way in (tight) this caused mine to start poorly when cold, and also would occassionally stall when coasting...loosened rack damper...never happened again.
-Plugged fuel filters possibly?

Thats all I can think of....

Heh. This isn't Winter, my friend. Wait until January. As for slow starting... How slow is it? Your slow start might be my idea of a quick start. (And probably is, since the last time I started my car it took 20 seconds to get it to hesitatingly cough to life in 80 degree weather. I'm blaming the bad cam for valve lift issues, and all the air I always had in the fuel lines from a bad primer pump.)
