Pristine SD with a death sentence.

This low mileage 300SD has a single tank WVO system. What are they thinking?!?

He likely "converted" it after he bought it so he could hike the price $5000 more than he paid for it. Hope may not be lost for it if the right person gets it.

It would need to be removed immediately before any further damage has been done.

Hopefully, you're correct and no one actually burned garbage in it.

Portland 300SD

The problem would be to get the seller to sell for a reasonable price.

The conversion was done in CA so it must have been used.

For starters he is asking $5k to much. I'd want to subtract $1k from that for the damage he probably did running the lines for that system, not to mention screwing the tank in.

Hopefully someone will buy it and fix it before its ruined.

Screwing in what tank? A single tank "conversion" is nothing more than an extra filter that happens to be heated.

Yes, it looks like it is probably a rust free gem.

It even has the original 1980 Z series California blue plates, so it's definately a Southern California car, and with all service records from Beverly Hills Ltd, the Mercedes dealer.

But it is overpriced, and definately on the road to ruin with that set up on it.

Why wouldn't a low mileage 116 SD command the same price as a 123?

Are you comparing a 115/123 or a 116/126? Either way I would expect them to bring a similar price based on mileage/condition.

You have to mount the tank and run the lines. All of which causes damage.

He's saying that a single tank "conversion" does not add a new tank, I just uses WVO in the original tank with a heater.

On a single tank conversion, there is no tank that needs to be installed. You still use the original tank.
