Greetings,

Please help me identify an what seems to be an electrical connection. Located under the hood on the drivers side wheel well. There is a 6-7 pin rectagular male/female connector. What is the purpose of this connector?
This connector is on a 88' 300e and a '83 300cd. The reason for my concern is that on the 300cd, the male part of the plug is diconnected:confused: The car is running fine. Just want to know what this plug is for. Thanks for the help.

TXBill,

The actual connector that I'm asking about is rectangular in shape. However, the wiring leading from the rect. shape connector does feed into a round shaped connection of some type, which is also located on the drivers side fender under the hood.
The car seems to be running OK. I hate to just snap the connection together and cause some problems, but it seems that the male and female plug should be together,no pun intended:p

moraine,

The stop lights work, but the cruise control does not work:confused: Previous owner told me he was having trouble with the cruise control and never got it working properly. I will try connecting the 2 plugs to see what happens.
This factory manual you speak of, is it the MB CD version, or a Haynes manual? I need to purchase some type of repair manual. I have the CD version for my 300E, but it was a little pricey. Thanks for your help....

Marks88,
The haynes manual is good but skips too many important issues (my opinion) the CD is very indepth and through but is not published for the public, it has a big tech flare to it. Partshop will sell you the MB factory CD, however check ebay for pcgates version, much less expensive and just as good, they are the only ones to sell their own disc, sorry parts shop. I have used all three and they are all good (pcgate, most bang for buck)CD in SC.
