How to remove the trim

Not the side door stop trim.. but all of the anodized aluminum trim.. minus the windshield and rear window...

I would like to remove them, strip the anodizing and polish them properly since mine are as milky as the stars

removal of trim varies .....83 300 sd experience

1.Roof rail is attached with screws.
2.Window sills just pull up...are attached with clips...may have to remove mirrors to get front ones off.
3.Trim around windows on the doors themselves pull off. Are just a channel over a lip around the window.
4.Trunk emblem Benz star is attached with a nut on trunk lid.
5.Trunk numbers and signage is just pry off in most instances.

Instead of trying to get clear coat off of trim on my car, I just used the special black-out treatment by Trimbrite (got at Pepboys) to cover the old motley trim. They also have a black spray on paint available. Just mask off, prep, and spray away. On a dark car the trim seems to dissapear ala the later model Mercedes.

The aluminum trim on the car is extremely hard to strip and in my experience will polish up with a wavey texture to the surface.

Regards

Run-Em

roof rails on your 123 are NOT held on with screws though (I mean the one that runs along your gutter and up the a pillar and down the c pillar). On the a pillar there IS 3 screws on each side.
