u.s. it's almost like they made it about 1/4 inch to short in the back.as i said i have the locking ring loose but there just isn't enough room to get it off the bulb.

The bulb comes out the back - can't say I ever had a problem removing. It it on the driver side where you have a lot of AC stuff?

I changed my driver's side bulb yesterday, low beam went out. 21 years is pretty good for a bulb. It comes out the back. Take ring off and wiggle the bulb. There is a rubber seal on the bulb itself and my bulb was pretty stuck after 21 years. A little wiggling and out it came.

It;s been awhile since I've changed out the bulbs in my SDL, but if you're working with
the passenger side it's a tight spot.
If so, try loosening the drivers side just to get the feel for how it works.

As I recall I don't believe the locking ring comes off but is retained in grooves
and once loosened to the proper spot slide in and out in those grooves.

Also I'm thinking that the bulb needs to be twisted to be removed also.

But then again I could be completely wrong on all accounts.

Yes, you are right, the bulb needs to be twisted just a little bit. That is what I meant by wiggling. I guess I wiggled it and twisted it a little.

well i'll pull a little harder and see what happens.i have the ring loose, but evidently the bulb has to be loose for the ring to clear.thanks for the info guys!
