Opinions rocker arm / head requested

Hi all!

With winter on its way, I decided to pull the wagon into the garage, to work on a list of items.

Topping the list was to investigate the source of blue smoke. This has so far led me into planning for the rebuilding of the turbo and replacing the stem seals.

While in the process of removing the rocker arms, I noticed that one of the dowels that lock the rocker arm assembly into place (bolt passes through the top of the assembly, through the dowel and into the head) was missing. It seems like it would be a pressed in part, so it didn't just fly out when taken apart.

To get a replacement, it has to come from Germany (per the dealer) and will take several weeks. If the part was available I wouldn't even consider the asking the question, I would replace it.

Is that a must have item? OR can I put back together, the way it was? If its a risk, she'll just have to wait and I am OK with that.

Thanks
Don
