Batt. discharge and Alternator fix
Recently, I was having alternator problems and a severely discharged battery. I checked DC volts and showed 12.6VDC and AC showed virtually zero. So I thought it must be the voltage regulator...........Almost.
When I pulled the regulator, the visible metal surfaces were covered with a very thin green corrosion. After cleaning the portion of the regulator that grounded to the alternator housing and reinstalling, I now have 13.8 VDC and bright headlights! The alternator sits low on these cars so this may be common. A little cleaning may save you $20 and valuable time.

Hmmm... this is amazingly pertinent to me right now as I noticed a problem with battery drain myself today.
