Question Is it possible to re-use my hood pad?

Folks, I had a new hood pad put on my 1983 300D 6 years ago, when I purchased the car, and now it has really come loose in several places. The pad looks good, so I was wondering if it was feasible to re-use it, just getting the appropriate 3M 8090 adhesive, cleaning off the hood, then putting it back on?
Thanks so much in advance for your opinions!

It may have come loose in several places, but, I'm betting that there will be several other places where it's firmly attached. You'll destroy it when you attempt to remove it from those places.

If you do manage to get it off in one piece, I'd think you'd be fine to put it back up. Need to thoroughly clean the underside of the hood with acetone first, however.

If it's comming loose in a corner or such (like mine did) use some 3M trim adhesive for touch up. It comes in a tube.

You may be able to aid removal by using a flexible plastic putty knife or the like, make sure you lightly file any sharp corners to a rounded edge so as not to gouge the paint or hook/cut into the pad.

Well, folks a happy ending to this story. I did take your advice and used some 3M trim adhesive, reached my arm behind the pad and squeezed, moving the tube of adhesive all around where I could reach and attempted to get it spread as well as possible, I used a couple of broom handles to hold up the areas that I couldn't hold up, while the adhesive was setting, and by judiciously moving around, holding up different areas of the hood pad, I was able to get it glued back to the hood! Just finished it Friday night, so we'll see how long it lasts! It looked as though it was niever really well glued on, as it was loose in soooo many areas!
Thanks so much again for your help and advice!
