On my 77 300d and 85 300td, the seat back angle adjuster knobs are on the outside of the seats. On my new 79 300sd, the knobs are on the insides of the seats and awkward to adjust. Does anyone else have a 123 or 116/126 with adjuster knobs on the inside or, for some reason, have my seats been switched from side to side? It's hard to get to the knob with the armrest right above it.

I would not be unusual for a "tired" driver seat to be swapped with a seldom-used passenger seat. It that was the case, you could swap the seat backs and return the knobs to the outside.

I was thinking that but neither seat seems tired at all and the slider adjustments are on the correct sides.

The tracks pretty much have to be left in their original positions. Is their any indication that the arm rest was previously installed on the passenger side seat?

No indication that I can find which is why I was wondering if other people have the knobs inside.

115 all had their adjusters on the inside. Much easier to access.
