Brake Fluid Leak
All right talked earlier this week on the subject and I think that the problem may be that i used Synthetic Brake fluid. My brake calipers have started to leak. My question is would using Synthetic brake fluid cause this. Would flushing the system and replace the fluid with conventional DOT 4 fix the problem. Please help with a answer, I need my car next week for school and if this would fix the problem it will save me some money. If this wont fix then i am stuck having to rebuild the calipers.

Synthetic fluid as in Dot 5? 5.1 is different and should be fine.
If you put 5 in there, you need to replace every single rubber seal in the entire system. |

The brake fluid you used would not cause the problem I don't think. I've been using the same thing for several years with no issues. All brake fluid is synthetic anyway isn't it?

I flushed my brake system a couple of years ago and refilled with Valvoline Synpower. (Previous fluid was conventional.) My master cylinder started leaking through the rear seal right before my eyes, before I could finish bleeding the brakes.

I understand not all brake fluid is syn, and you can't mix the two. With these cars, stick with DOT 4.
