What did you do today?

I got the trans service done, washed the engine compartment.....twice,
and detailed the door jams. I also changed fuel filters and had a nice little
chat with Phil........ok, I broke something and had to order a new one,I
still don't know what it was, but Phil did, so a new one is on the way.
Tomorrow, I get to start on the interior detail......oh joy.

Drove my SDL to look at a building lot, and did some computer systems BS homework. Now I'm going to go to SCSU drink some vodka and rum, play some HALO, and hit on some girls. All before Death Note comes on.

Tomarrow I get to finish the timing belt job on the Jetta, replace the serp belt, fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs, and change the oil. Maybe do the valve cover gasket as well if its leaking.

That car has a timing belt, V belt, and serp belt, I have never seen an engine with all three.

Installed new wiper blades on the 85 300D winter is approaching.
Tomorrow is a oil change with 5-40 for winter start ups, mount the 4 snows tires.
And in the very near future I need to set the valves.

Repaired the garage door that folded in half a couple days ago!
Youngest daughter had her last soccer game this morning. Drove the wagon quite a bit today. That car is really running and driving well.
Now to install a new printer. Old one bit the dust.....
Sounds like the Hitman had the best day. I just love shopping at the yard....

I finally sighted-in the 270 WSM after mounting the Leupold...

Oh wait, you mean with the car???

I looked at it and was glad it is sitting in my garage and not someone else's. Took the 240 to the range....

Today was the Nor Cal Diesel Drive.

Justin (W124.090) '88 300TE, Jeremy (Jeremy 5848) '96 300D, Jim (Jim B.) '91 560SEC and Troy (LUVLAW) '76 450SEL met at the parking lot at Mercedes Benz of Eldorado Hills this morning, for a Diesel Drive to the Arroyo Seco Nuclear Power plant, but it began to rain....

After doing our transactions at the Parts Dept of the Dealer, we had to move the cars to a distant parking lot, because immediatley after, we had them apart and tools everywhere, a bad looking scene in front of a ritzy Mercedes Benz dealer's showroom!!

We went out for lunch and talk at the IHOP in the next town. Then we went to the great Ernie's Independent Mercedes Benz where we were joined by Nik
(SirNik84) '84 300SD and talked with Ernst Koch, the owner, and I introduced myself and my car, and left it with him for a "C" service.

Then we carpooled out to the Pick 'n' Pull yard, always the highlight of a good Diesel Drive, and the rain really came down hard, and were met there by Garrett (DieselKraut22) 81 300D - what is a Diesel dirve without at least one W123? - and went into the yard for some real fun in the rain.

I hadn't been in a yard for about 20 years, and it was exciting as I remembered!

Just about everyone found things, Jeremy even got some good wood trim for his '85 W123, and we found him a rare Euro Delivery Badge on a grille, which wouldn't come off the grille, so he simply bought the entire grille. (Hey, it was REALLY raining by then, you gotta do what you gotta do.)

Well I could NOT come away empty handed myself so for the ridiculously cheap price of $7 I got some good HD jumper cables and an a portable emergency lantern (taken from some wreck) which only needed a new battery, and now is great!

Huge Mercedes Benz fun!!! From the beginning at the Mercedes Benz new car dealer and ending up at a Mercedes Benz junkyard. Kind of like the journey of the Mercedes Benz's life from beginning to end.....

Old Mercedesshop friendships confirmed and new ones made.

A great day.

Well I replaced my sun visors with two almost brand new(well they certainly look brand new) ones I got off Ebay. Then I replaced all the ceramic fuses with new ones, washed the car and went for a little drive. After two months I have most of the little glitches out of this car. I am surprised that at 184,000 miles that it doesn't use any oil and that the oil gauge always remains well above the 2 after a warmup at 3 in park. I have almost 2000 miles on it and the oil (Oil and filter change just after I got it) is still at the top notch where it is supposed to be. This is my First MB and I like it!

Jim B,
Wish I could have made the Diesel Drive, but I'll make the next one for sure. Hard for me to think that you'd need service after last weekend in LA and all you had done here. Glad you found a good Indy up there too.

I drove the 300D about 850 miles from davenport, IA to denver (on my way back from working in toledo last week). Good weather, no traffic; but my left low beam burned out yesterday.
