So I was borrowing my good friend's 82 Benz- it's got a 240d chassis and tranny, with a 300d engine. Lovely little car. The sunroof has been broken, was just waiting for one more little part. Driving along with friends, we got warm. Looking for a way to open the vents, I accidentally hit the sunroof button and the thing flew off down the interstate and was run over by a semi.

Fortunately no one was hurt. But he comes back to get his car on Tuesday this week. I need to find a new sunroof-QUICK!! I'm in Idyllwild, near Palm Springs, LA and San Diego CA. If anyone has one, has seen one at a pick-a-part or can think of a way to get one, please let me know!! Bonus points if you're in Southern California. Please post here or email me on the forum

1982 240D probably something like 190,000 miles...was Old Yeller, but I changed the name to Buttercup

Call Pete in LA...949-306-2668. A stockpile of used Mercedes parts. If you can drive the car to his location, he will be able to scope out exactly the pieces you'll need. May even have a panel in the same color (though possibly a bit off due to age, UV effects and so on.)
