RE: 1985 300DT
I read a lot of posts on here about this trans. and got it almost fixed
Before: 1-2 shift was a little slow 2-3 took forever (flairing ?) and 3-4 fast with a bang not good.
vacuum reading to the trans. was 22" idle, 18" in drive and 5" @ WOT

After reading the posts
1-2 nice quick and firm 2-3 nice and firm w/a little slip and 3-4 with a bang
vacuum reading to the trans. is 15" idle, 10" in drive and 0" @ WOT after adjusting the modulator by the ALDA. The trans cable was adjusted to have slight pressure at idle stop.
WOT shift points are about 4600 RPM

My big ? is The vacuum modulator on the trans has a T key under a cap and turning it clockwise will firm up the shifts counterclockwise softer shifts. However i dont feel any clicks or restistance when i go to adjust it. it seems like its too short.
Does that sound like this is the problem w/my 3-4 shift?
