AC/heater education needed-w123 300D '79
Hey Folks,
I bypassed my acc servo and am satisfied with the imperfect outcome but am asking for education on probable causes for some odd symptoms. Here is the link I made for the servo bypass: http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showthread.php?t=205573&highlight=servo+bypass Now my question, I just recently unplugged the aux water pump and also removed and reconnected together the vacuum lines to the cold engine lock out switch of the servo (at the servo's bottom). These actions improved the sypmtoms but I still get faint tepid warm air from the center vents with the manual heater valve off and the blower off. Side vents are cold and the footwell vents. With heater valve open, I get stagnant tepid warm air on center vents, side vents and footwell remian cold but with blower ON, of course I get warm air all around.. In both scenarios the blower levels all work and the vent flaps work including the vac pod behind the glove compartment. However with heater valve off and blower levels ON, I get warm air out of all vents, not as hot as with valve open. Likewise the AC compressor will kick in by the original switch but I get mild warm air forced out with the heater valve off. Is this a function of some vent flap not directing ac air only to center vents ? I am curious about the mechanics behind this. I have removed the ac amplifier because the servo is stuck out of park position and drains battery otherwise. Thanks for help !
