1987 300D wagon blower motor DIY?

My buddy said changing the blower is one of the harder things he has done on this car. I offered to give him a hand in exchange for some parts off an older 300D. Is there a DIY thread on this or can somebody give me some guidance?

Open the hood to the vertical position.
Remove the clipped-in lower windshield trim.
Remove the 4? thumbscrews holding the inner-firewall rear panel in place.
Remove both the inner and outer rear seals from the firewalls.
Pull the windshield wiper away from the glass so that it stays in the upward position.
Remove the 4 tiny screws holding the arcuate trim and rubber apron below/forward of the wiper assembly.
Remove the top screened panel from the base of the windshield to expose the wiper motor assembly.
Remove the 4 bolts securing the windshield wiper assembly to the car.
Roll the wiper assembly upward at the forward side and out of the opening, unplug wires, and remove.
Pull the ambient-temp sensor out of its bracket and lay to the side (toward the car right-side).
Unclip and unscrew the upper cover of the blower motor.
You will need to force the inner firewall panel toward the engine at some point, I'm not sure what step required it.
You should now be looking at the blower.
Unclip the band around the motor and lift free of the bracket, unplug the wires and remove.

I might be missing a step or detail, but it's pretty much evident what has to happen except possibly for the 4 tiny screws, ... I've done this 5 times in the past year, not difficult and should only take 2hours to R&R once you've got everything ready

Installation is also fairly simple provided you didn't buy an aftermarket blower which is slightly larger than original, ... PO did this in one of my 124s and had a fortune tied up in dealer installation. Just remember to slide the ambient-temp sensor back in its bracket before buttoning it up, easy to forget.

Did this and couldn't find it. Thanks babymog. This helps out a lot. The guy with the car claims that he is going in through the inside of the car?

Bad move, he'll have to remove the entire HVAC system including heater core and evaporator just to see it, and find that it's outside.

I wouldn't waste time with the wiper arm removal BTW, easy to do with the wiper assembly complete, I've done it this way each time.
