Extra line to transmission vacuum controller? ('96 E300D)
The new-to-me E300D has three vacuum lines that come from someplace under the ABS unit and go towards the transmission vacuum controller. Two of them (one clear, one brown) actually connect to the controller while the third (black) ends in a short piece of rubber hose and connects to nothing.
At the same time, the vacuum controller has a right-angle rubber connector sticking out of it that has nothing plugged into it. It occurred to me that there might be a missing piece connecting the black line to the controller. Another possibility is that these parts are for an option I don't have. I don't have a manual and the EPC doesn't go into enough detail. The vacuum controller (and therefore, the transmission) works properly and I wouldn't worry except that lines going nowhere bother me. Does your car have these parts? Jeremy
