1980 300 SD Turbo

I just replaced my starter and everything seemed to work well. It started just fine but when I went to shut it off it would not turn off. It just kept running even after I removed the ignition key.

Any ideas why this would happen. My research tells me that it could only be one of two things. 1st would be the injector pump and 2nd would be the ignition stwitch.

Any thoughts?????

Mike

See if you didn't knock the line off the shut off valve at Injection Pump
Pulls injection pump rack to stop. These also do fail more frequently than the ignition vacuum shut off. If you have a mity vac hook it up to your shut off valve and see if it shuts the engine down.

Check under the hood to see if you knocked a vacuum line out of place. It's happened to me.
